Click the
button above and this link will take you to the Charity Choice
website, which provides a secure on-line donation facility for
Chaseley. This is a FREE service, and Chaseley
will receive all of your donation. Alternatively you can send a
cheque or postal order to us at the address on the contact
page.
Why do
we need donations?
Our nursing
care is funded through various organisations, such as the Veterans
Agency for ex-service men and women, or Social Services and
Primary Care Trusts, but your donation enables us to provide
additional specialist equipment, therapies, activities and outings,
which are so very important for quality of life.
How your
donation will be spent:
 Just £10 can provide
bulbs for our Garden Club or paints for our Art
Group. £50 will buy computer voice recognition software
for people who are paralysed. Larger sums can be put towards
a major purchase such as a new tilting table for our therapies
department.
We are a
small charity, so your donation really will make a
difference.
 Our
new coach was purchased in 2005 with money raised entirely through
donations from Trusts and members of the public. Likewise our
standing frame (left), which enables people who cannot stand by
themselves to stand upright, with resultant benefits including
improved bone strength, muscle tone, circulation and kidney
function.
OTHER WAYS
YOU CAN HELP US:
Recycling:
We can
recycle your old printer cartridges and mobile phones. Just
post them to us or drop them in at our reception. Printer
cartridges must be original (ie. not refills) and sorry we cannot
recycle Epson cartridges. HP are the best!
Payroll
Giving:
If you are
in work, your employer may offer Payroll Giving, where you pledge a
small amount each week or month from your salary, and the best bit
of that is, it is deducted before tax! So, if you
pledge £5 per month, you will only see a reduction in your net pay
of £3.90 if a standard rate taxpayer or £3 if a higher rate
taxpayer.
If your
employer has a Payroll Giving scheme in place, ask for a ‘choice’
form, which you complete and return to your Payroll Department or
their Payroll Giving Agency. You can choose to give to more
than one charity if you like. That’s all there is to
it. You can cancel the arrangement at any time, and can
donate as little as £1 per month, with no upper limit!
If your employer doesn’t have this scheme, get them to talk to us
about how easy it is to set up, and how they could be eligible for
a grant of up to £500 to start one by the end of 2006! What’s
more, the government will fund match new donations of up to £10 for
six months, doubling your generosity!
Gift
Aid:
All
taxpayers, employed or not, can make a donation using a Gift Aid
declaration. This means that we can ask the Inland Revenue to
refund the tax you have paid on your donation. So if you
donate £10, we can claim an additional £2.80 from the Inland
Revenue and this additional income soon mounts up. All you
need to do is sign a Gift Aid declaration form and return it to
us. Request a
form by email, phone or by
post, from Chaseley.
Leave a
Legacy
Legacies
are by far the largest source of voluntary income, accounting for
some 38% of monies received by charities. Another reason
legacies are so important to charities, is that they are a low cost
way of generating much needed income.
If you have
already made a will, please consider asking your solicitor to draw
up a codicil for you, bequeathing an amount to The Chaseley Trust.
If you do not have a will, contact a solicitor (we can
provide some contact details) and ask them to help you put your
affairs in order. If you die without a will, you will have no
say in how your estate is distributed.
You can
make a number of different gifts to charity. A Pecuniary
Bequest is a gift of a particular sum of money. A Residuary
Bequest is a gift of part or all of the value of your estate after
debts, liabilities and other legacies have been paid.
A gift in
kind is a gift of a specific object, such as a painting or
property.
Thank you for any help you can
give, it is much appreciated.
