Nursing
Care
Chaseley
employs over 140 full and part-time staff, the majority of whom are
involved in providing nursing and social care to our service
users.
Personal
care is provided by carers under the supervision of skilled and
experienced Registered Nurses. Each service user is allocated a
Registered Nurse as their named nurse and a carer as their key
worker. All registered nurses are duty bound to abide by the
Nursing & Midwifery Council's Code of Conduct and all carers
are duty bound to abide by the Codes of Practice for Social Care
Workers, issued by the General Social Care Council. It is our
aim to have most of our carers holding a National Vocational
Qualification in care either at level two or three. All
service users have care provided according to their agreed care
plan, which is reviewed on a monthly basis.
A
multi-disciplinary review is held with the service user on a six
monthly basis and all records are kept in accordance with
regulations and service users have access to their own records on
request.

Physiotherapy
and Occupational Therapy Team
Service
users are provided with an exercise programme tailored to meet
their individual need and those who are unable to attend the gym
will have their treatment programme carried out in their
room.
The
occupational therapy team provides assistance and advice with
wheelchairs, cushions and a range of adaptive equipment and can
work with service users undergoing rehabilitation to ensure they
can successfully use adaptive equipment for cooking and other
home-based activities. Such equipment may be loaned to
service users while they are guests at Chaseley.

As well as
our in-house facilities, we regularly expand our therapy service to
locations outside the home including visits to a nearby fully
equipped gym and swimming pool and encourage participation in
outdoor carriage driving, courtesy of Riding for the Disabled.
We also offer an outpatient facility for occupational therapy
and physiotherapy. |
