The Friends
of Chaseley is an allied registered charity no 1051596, formed in
1958 to promote and foster public interest in The Chaseley Trust
and to support their work.
Chairman Mitch Kerry says:
"Our aim is to make Chaseley a home in the
true sense of the word and to this end the Committee and other
members work closely with the main Trustees in order to ensure a
happy, relaxed and homely atmosphere is maintained for the
residents and also for staff.
We organise various events to raise money to
provide extra equipment and luxuries for Chaseley's residents, and
we ensure every resident receives a birthday and Christmas
present. This alone costs in the region of £1,300 annually
and so fundraising is a vital part of our work.
Our average annual income is around £5,000,
raised through jumble sales, raffles, quiz nights, coffee mornings,
Bridge Drive and so on. We are always looking for new ideas
and as some of us have been in the Friends a long time, it would be
nice to have some newer (and younger!) supporters joining us.
As well as fundraising, many members volunteer
their time to help around the home with gardening, in the Computer
Activity Centre, with other activities and at meal
times.
However, whether old or young, if
you would like to join us
you would be made very welcome. We
only ask for £5 a year to join the Friends and if you could help us
with any of our events,
or in general around the home, you would
be contributing something really worthwhile to a very deserving
cause. You can download a membership application form
here and
a gift aid declaration here, which helps your donations go
further.
You can write to me care of
Chaseley."
